Projects, Ideas and Issues

This section provides an overview of all projects and innovative ideas on teaching and research about the UN. As of now, there are five loose clusters around which we wish to center our activities (for an overview of our 2008-09 activities, please refer to our UN Studies Working Group's discussion in Bonn on June 5):

Framing a concept of UN Studies

Some of the questions our working group addresses in order to draw a core concept of UN Studies (see ConceptUnstudies):

  • What are problems, challenges and shortcomings in current UN-related research and teaching?
  • Why is there a need for a coherent, encompassing field of UN Studies?
  • What is the purpose of UN Studies?
  • What could be distinguisihing features of a future field of UN Studies?
  • What issues, topics, approaches, theories (content) shall it comprise?
